Over $1 billion could be saved during the next 13 years in Canada's health care system with the help of medical scribes.
Speaking on behalf of Scribe Canada, Craig Newman says more health care systems globally are using scribes.
Newman explains scribes are "Generally a pre-med, pre-[Professional Nurse], pre-[Registered Nurse] individual, pre-professional, who learns to handle the clerical duties that are taking physicians away from clinical care."
He says by spreading the workload around, more patients can be seen, which also economically stimulates Canada's health care system. (File Photo)
