There's plenty of disappointment within the soccer community in the city now that the season has ended for several leagues.
Michael Veneziale of Soccer Northwest tells us it's too bad they were forced to pull the plug on plans to convert a waterfront building into a soccer plex.
Their plans for the Maureen Street facility were scuttled after a zoning appeal was filed with the Ontario Municipal Board against the proposal.
Veneziale believes they were going forward with the best intentions and it's sad that won't be happening.
He hopes Soccer Northwest can make the best of a bad situation and believes it could spur long term plans to build a new soccer facility. (Stock photo)
